Philippine Law in Protecting Environment

 In our country Philippines, multiple Philippine laws exist to protect the environment, including laws and regulations pertaining to the preservation and protection of the environment.

  The Environmental Protection Act is crucial and significant because it aims to safeguard public health, protect the environment, and control pollution and other public hazards. It also aims to promote sustainable economic and social development.

Here are some examples;

1. Philippine Clean Air Act

The Republic Act 8749 is a comprehensive air quality management policy and program aimed at achieving and maintaining healthy air for Filipinos.

Recognize and acknowledge that cleaning the habitat and environment is primarily an are-based; Acknowledging that a healthy and clean environment benefits everyone and should thus be everyone's concern.

Protect and promote the global environment while acknowledging that it is the main responsibility and primary duty of LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS to address environmental issues.

2. Pollution Control Law - P.D. 1181 (supplements the provision of P.D. 984)

P.D. 1181 (complements P.D. 984) establishes the maximum allowable emissions of specific air pollutants from all types of vehicles and provides for the abatement, control, and prevention of vehicular pollution.

7. Food Security Act of 1985

8. Solid Waste Management Act (2001)

This also known as R.A. 9003, which an act establishing an ecological solid waste management program, establishing the needful institutional mechanisms and incentives, declaring certain acts prohibited and imposing penalties, allocating funds for such purposes, and other purposes.

   Environmental regulations were designed not only to safeguard and maintain our environment, but also so that we could breathe clean air, swim in clear rivers and lakes, and use clean water.

The government won't take the necessary steps to safeguard and preserve our ecosystem. We must all play our role in this world as human beings and regular citizens by contributing to government programs and projects. Because those projects would not be achievable without cooperation. We must take personal initiative and be prepared to contribute to the preservation and protection of mother nature.
